Auto Darkening Filter Reacts Quickly After Striking an Arc
The Speedglas™ 100V lens also features five user-selectable dark shades, from shade 8 through shade 12, and a light shade of 3. The auto darkening filter quickly darkens after striking an arc to maintain optimal viewing. The auto darkening filter also reduces the need to flip the viewing lid, which can be stressful on the neck and a distraction while welding. The viewing area provides a field of view that allows the welder to see the work in progress with minimal obstruction. Recommended welding applications include metal fabrication, assembly, mechanical and metal repair.

One Helmet Works for Three Types of Welding
This fully assembled, all black welding helmet with ADF (Auto Darkening Filter) offers sensitivity adjustments for use with most Stick (arc welding) , MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG(Tungsten Inert Gas) welding applications. The welding helmet uses an auto darkening filter that can be adjusted for different shades based on the welding amperage. The viewing area measures 1.73 inches high x 3.66 inches wide and has excellent optical quality.

Versatile Eye Protection for Welders
Welding helmets help protect the eyes and face in numerous ways. For starters, the helmet blocks the sparks and spatter that welding produces from reaching the eyes and face. Protecting the eyes from exceptionally bright light and rapid changes in brightness is another safety benefit of a welding helmet. Without protection, eyes can be temporarily or permanently injured by the intensity of light produced by welding. Eyes also have difficulty adjusting to rapid brightness changes while welding in dark locations, which can be both a productivity and safety issue.
