NIOSH approved for environments containing certain oil and non-oil based particles. P95 particulate filter. Use with 3M Reusable Respirators. Use with 3M Respirators 5000 Series or 3M Cartridge 6000 Series with 3M Adapter 502, or 3M Half and Full Facepieces 6000, 7000 and FF-400 Series with bayonet filter holders. When properly fitted, use in a variety of applications such as grinding, sanding and welding for concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces or 50 times PEL with full facepieces. Full facepieces must be quantitatively fit tested to claim assigned protection factor above 10 in negative pressure mode. The 3M™ Particulate Filter 2071, P95 helps provide respiratory protection against a wide range of oil and non-oil based particulate contaminants. The filter is effective for concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces or 50 times PEL with quantitatively fit tested full facepieces. The filter protects against: 1) solids such as those from processing minerals, coal, iron ore, cotton, flour, and certain other substances; 2) liquids or oil based particles from sprays that do not emit harmful vapors; and 3) metal fumes produced from welding, brazing, cutting, and other operations involving heating of metals. 3M’s Advanced Electret Media (AEM) provides a comfortable lightweight, easy-breathing combination. The 3M Bayonet Fixing System ensures precise and secure locking. Inventory needs and training requirements of safety equipment are reduced because this filter works for many different applications. The filter is both flame and water resistant. This filter is recommended when grinding, welding, sanding, sawing, sweeping, bagging and for other dusty, oil operations.
The filter works with a wide range of facepieces, including 3M Half and Full Facepieces 6000, 7000 and FF-400 Series (sold separately). If used with 3M Adapter 502, the filter may also be used with 3M™ Respirator 5000 Series or 3M Cartridge 6000 Series (sold separately). The filter is NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved for at least 95% filtration efficiency against exposure to solid and liquid aerosols including oils.
